Father’s Day Red Wine Assortment
Set of 3 bottles of red wine including the below:
Casa Ferreirinha, Callabriga 2019
A deep ruby colour. This wine has an intense and complex aroma with floral notes, tropical fruit, black and red fruit, spices and a minerality that contains hints of wet shale. Wood of great quality is well-integrated and contributes to the aromatic complexity. On the palate, it has good volume, with excellent, rounded tannins and a fantastic acidity. Further aromas of red and tropical fruit come to the fore, along with floral notes and hints of cocoa, courtesy of an excellent maturation. This wine has a long and elegant finish.
Chateau Franc Le Maine, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2015
Aromas of blackberries and dark cherries are woven together with tobacco, roasted coffee and spices. Medium to full bodied, well structured and balanced with wonderful minerality at its core. The finish is polished with dark fruits and tobacco notes lingering. Outstanding today, but will best with another year or so of bottle age.
Roux Pere & Fils, Mercurey rouge, Champs-Pillot 2019
Handpicked harvest and first fermentation in stainless steel tank for 15 days. Second fermentation in oak barrels (20% new casks). Maturation during 9-10 months in the cellar for aging, stored in barrels.
Food Pairing: Beef rib steaks, or joints of beef or lamb, braised or in the sauce. Roast pork is well suited to its rich aromas, as are poultry-based stews. As for the cheeseboard, this wine harmonizes equally well with either mild, soft cheeses or aged versions.
Happy Father’s Day!
