A legendary cru… Over centuries, this mythical cru has built its reputation on a single hill, and an epic history. The hermitage owes its name to the hermit, while the vineyard has existed since ancient time. The first vintage of this cuvee was 2001.
Ruby/purple color.
Classic Hermitage notes of black raspberries, licorice and smoked earth.
Medium to full-bodied richness and ripe, polished tannin, a solid mouthful wine.
Food Pairing:
Quail, duck breast, lamb, cured cheese, chocolate based dessert.
Vinification and Maturing:
Age of the Vineyards: 40-60 years. The maceration lasts for 3 to 4 weeks with daily pump overs. Aged in 20% new French oak for 15 to 18 months.
