After an extensive reserarch for new terroir in the end of the 1990s, Michel Chapoutier, the famed Northern Rhône producer decided to locate Domaine de Bila-Haut in Côtes du Roussillon. Historically the site was one of the first areas planted for viticulture by the Greek Mariners and has been continuously a wine region known for making top quality wines. Roussillon offers many great opportunities including the ideal vine-growing climate and a rich geological background with incredible soil diversity ranging. The Roussillon was bound to attract Michel Chapoutier’s attention.
