Established for several generations on the peak of Sancerre, the Fouassier family is one of the oldest wine grower families in the area, and one of the relatively few still producing after the phylloxera crisis in the Sancerre village.To date, all the vines continue to be tended without the use of any chemical fertilizers. Today Fouassier is run by the tenth generation with the brothers Benoit and Paul continuing the ancestor’s great work.Combining traditional methods like that of “respect of the terroir“ with modern state-of-the-artwinemaking facilities, Fouassier dedicated themselves in preserving and capturing the beauty of the noble Sauvignon grape variety.
