Weinlaubenhof Kracher is located in the picturesque village of Illmitz, and possesses an excellent reputation in crafting fine botrytis wines. In 1981, Alois Kracher took charge of the wine production and has, until his death in 2007 , established Kracher wines as the best in its class. Still today, he is considered as one of the world’s greatest dessert wine makers of all time. His son, Gerhard Kracher, continues the vision of his father. This includes not only the worldrenowned winery, its sought-after wines with outstanding ratings, and the responsibility to continue to produce excellent wines, but also the spirit, strength, and dedication that Gerhard inherited from his famous father . As a result Gerhard was awarded “Sweet Winemaker of the Year” 2009 at the International Wine Challenge and all his wines were honored with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
