Domaine Martine Rouchier Marsanne 2021
HK$ 365
Antraigue is the name of a plot planted by Christian in 2016 which is less than 100m from his historic plot of Syrah, La Chave. We find here Syrah (which gives the Antraigue Syrah cuvee), viognier (Antraigue Viognier cuvee) and therefore Marsanne which is fully included in this cuvee. Fermentation and aging take place in stainless steel vats for bottling without fining or filtration.
As with his Viognier, Christian has created here a pretty typical varietal wine, that is to say perfectly representative of the best Marsanne has to offer. A lovely aroma that opens up well on pear and almond tart but without falling into exuberance. The juice presents a nice freshness, with a perfectly framed alcohol, a characteristic not always easy to obtain on this grape variety when you are looking for real maturity. Really a pretty wine, not to be served too chilled so as not to miss it by crushing its beautiful aromatics.
