Domaine Ballot Millot, Les Boucheres, Meursault 1er cru AOP 1.5L
HK$ 2,650
“A highly restrained but ultra-elegant nose requires aggressive swirling to reveal its cool and pure aromas of green apple, lemon rind and pretty floral wisps. The less concentrated and powerful but much more refined flavors possess a lovely sense of underlying tension along with notably more minerality on the lemony and saline-suffused finish. This tightly wound effort will also need to add a bit of depth but it’s already exceptionally pretty and, as the best examples of Bouchères always are, a wine of finesse.” – Burghound
“Just 3 to 4 barrels made even in the plentiful years. The grapes ripen quickly between stone banks, so early picking is essential, otherwise the acidity will drop away quickly otherwise. Not in this case. This does not quite have the body of the more famous 1ers crus but the wine is elegant and persistent, in fact offering a really beautiful elegant finish.” – Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
