Domaine Levert Barault Mercurey 1er Cru La Chassiere

From the village of Saint-Martin-Sous-Montaigu, a 1er cru facing southeast, with good sunshine and reddish-brown limestone sandstone, is the signature work of the winery that best represents the southern terroir of Mercurey. The old vines with 40-70 years are organically grown. They only keep half the number of bud to reduce the final yield, 100% destemmed and 30% new oak barrels.

Light, crisp raspberries and red cherries, embellished with rippling rose aromas, even though it is also a 1er cru, it shows a completely different style from other wines of the same level in the winery. It’s the Editor’s Choice of Wines Enthusiast in 2022.
