Domaine Coche Dury, Cuvée Muteau Hospices de Beaun,Volnay 1er cru AOP
The wines of Coche Dury are some of the most prized in any collection around the world. Cult status can be appropriately applied to describe this very humble family of dedicated farmers who do not seek the limelight nor the fame that their dedication and skill has brought them. Although Jean-Francois has retired his son Raphael and his wife have taken the mantle and continue in just the same fastidious manner that has been taught to them.
Working Lutte Raisonnée in all their parcels, cared for with an uncompromising diligence, seeking only the most perfect fruit with the most modest of yields. The Coches farm almost 9 hectares on minuscule parcels over 6 communes: Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie, and Volnay. With the worlds attention on their Chardonnay, their small suite of exceptional Pinot Noir should not be overlooked being full of grace and elegance.
This Cuvée is made up from 5 superbly-placed Volnay Premier Cru, En Caillerets, Carelle Sous la Chapelle, Frémiets, Taillepieds and Le Village. Coche Dury purchased 3 barrels from the Hospices sale.
