Paul Jaboulet La Croix des Vignes Saint Joseph 2019

Another terrific-looking wine from the granite slope between Mauves and Tournon, Jaboulet’s 2019 Saint Joseph Domaine de la Croix des Vignes is inky in hue and quite compact and closed. Still, notes of crushed stone, cassis and violet emerge with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, maybe a bit bigger than the 2018, it retains classic granite structure and shape on the palate, finishing long, powerful and rich. -WA
