Bila-Haut, Occultum Lapidem Blanc Cotes du Roussillon AOP
HK$ 275
Each of the varietals in the blend offers up their unique flavors to combine a refreshing and crisp wine with “high resoulution” of flavors. The Grenache gives the wine a citrus attack with hints of Lime rind while the Grenache Gris adds medium body, a roundness and hint of Melon in the mid-palate. The Macabeo supplies the crisp mineral flavors with an almost saline note in the lingering finish. It is WAY better than Sauvignon Blanc and much more unique and rare.
“A step up in price and based mostly on Grenache Blanc and Grenache Gris, the 2018 Côtes Du Roussillon Occultum Lapidem Blanc gives up a ripe, mineral-laced style carrying lots of apple blossom and citrus fruits as well as medium to full-bodied richness, hints of spice and white flower, a rounded, layered texture, and beautiful balance. It’s a richer white, yet it has bright acidity and a clean, crisp finish. Beautifully done, it should keep for at least 2-4 years, if not longer.” – Jeb Dunnuck
