Casa Ferreirinha, Reserva Especial 2014
HK$ 2,300
Founded in 1952, Casa Ferreirinha was the first producer in the Douro dedicated to making still table wines. Their flagship wine, Barca Velha, has only been released in 19 vintages when the quality of the wine has met the exacting standards of winemaker, Luis Sottomayor. Vintages that are high quality, but not deemed exceptional, are released under the ‘Reserva Especial’ label. The 2009 is a blend of 45% Touriga Franca, 30% Touriga Nacional, 15% Tinta Roriz and 10% Tinta Cão, aged for 16 months in mostly new French oak. From a warm vintage, it is rich, full-bodied and muscular with intense notes of ripe plum, spices and tobacco.
