Chateau Lafite Rothschild ‘Carruades de Lafite’

From the Pauillac appellation and ranked as one of the original four 1st Growths (1er-Cru) in the famed 1855 Classification of Medoc – prior to sister-estate Mouton-Rothschild’s promotion in 1973 – Chateau Lafite-Rothschild is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates.

Carruades De Lafite is the second-wine from Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, with the grapes sourced from neighbouring vineyards and the wine featuring a blend of 50-70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30-50% Merlot and 0-5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, only 80% of the wine matures briefly in oak before final blend.
